The Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) designation, established by the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analaysts (NACVA), is granted to professionals who hold a business degree, have sufficient work experience in business valuation, submit business and professional references and recommendations, are members in good standing of NACVA, and pass the CVA exam.
The Certified Business Appraiser (CBA) is a very prestigious credential from NACVA. It had a reputation of being the industry’s most difficult credential to obtain and as such only a very select few were able to obtain this designation before the program was discontinued.
The Accredited Business Valuation (ABV) designation, established in 1996 by the AICPA, is granted only to professionals with over 1,500 hours of prior business valuation expereince.
